play to completion in about 3 hours, making it ideal for tournament play
and gamers with limited time. Designed by Renaud Verlaque, The Price of
Freedom uses a variation of the popular card drvien system found in many
other games. The difference is Renaud's unique treatment providing strong
historical flavor and high replay value. There are 25 historical army
commanders represented from both sides of the conflict. Each have varying
levels of ability affecting the maneuver and combat apabilities of the
corps tey command. The entire American Civil War plays out on a
beautifully rendered map depicting the strategic scope of the campaign.
Wonderfully illustrated corps counters feature the artwork of Don Troiani
and portraits of the commanders to give The Price of Freedom a distinct
period look and feel. The Price of Freedom is a 2 player card driven game.
It is not recommened for solitaire play but can be played that way as
well. The game is of medium complexity and can be played in about 3 hours
once the rules are fully understood. There is one 25" X 19" playing map
and 132 large playing pieces with this game.
